Alex Othmer is the Grandson of Fed and Mary Iasoni and son of Irene Iasoni Othmer and Richie Othmer. Alex served our country as an elite Navy Seal and here he comments on his experience watching the movie Oildale in which his cousin Jessica Michelle Castello plays the lead role. Jessica’s grandmother, Victoria Iasoni Castello, is the sister of Fred Iasoni.
These are from the tapes my father, Aldo Enzo Castello, filmed from over 70 years ago. Over those years those films were disintegrating in our Florida home. This year we paid someone to salvage and preserve as much as possible. These are some of the results. These portion and edits are from Bronx, New York and Boynton Beach, Florida between 1954 and 1963.
While the movies looked far better years ago, they have now been digitized for the future. I know my father had also made copies from our home movie projector that looked better. I have yet to go through the hundreds of videos he took from 1952 until his passing in 2002. It would take a lifetime to review them. I hope to convert most of his films into digital files. His films are priceless to the Iasoni and Castello families.
In the the film we also see Irene and Victor Iasoni, Michael, David and AnnaRenee Castello. Other notables in this clip are Frank and Emma Castello (Victoria Iasoni’s In-laws), Norma Castello, (Victoria Iasoni’s sister in-law) Janice ( Victor Iasoni’s Step-Granddaughter) and Rexy, Frank’s dog. Rosetta Sozzi, Ray Ferrari and his wife. Louisa, Vivian Rizza, Laura Prisco, Savi and Diana Lividini. Eleanor Caione , Robert Castello (Eleanor’s parents are Tony and Mary Ferrari)
After my Aunt Mary passed away recently I felt it was now the time to preserve some of the Iasoni history of pictures, videos and experiences. My mother Victoria Iasoni Castello told me many stories of her growing up in Bronx, NY with her brother, father and mother. I realize that as friends and family pass, many of their history and lives fade with time. I registered the domain name Iasoni.com 20 years ago and now believe is the time to finally create this site.
Anyone that loves and cares for Iasoni is welcome to post at Iasoni.com
